2 cups packed brown sugar
2 cups white sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup milk
4 cups all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups butter
4 eggs
3 cups rolled oats
1 1/2 cups flaked coconut
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup ground walnuts (optional)
